Age 55, and a lifetime resident of the Wilmington and Essex area, passed away Monday September 8, 2014 at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago.

Born June 15, 1959 in Kankakee, David was the son of the late George and Ilah (Hendrix) Anderson. He was raised and educated in Wilmington, where he graduated from Wilmington High School with the class of 1978. David was formerly employed by the Wilmington School District as a custodian. He was an honorary lifetime member of the Lions Club and belonged to the American Angler's Association. David was a fisherman and an avid Chicago Cubs fan. David loved the Wilmington and Essex communities and spoke of them frequently. He took pleasure in old westerns and country music, enjoyed music in general and sang in the choir. David will be remembered as a big flirt who truly loved people, and was a man of great faith.

Survivors include his sister Martha (Lonnie) Leonard of Kentucky; two nephews: Edward and William; several other family members, including his "cousins" David, Cheri and Brianna Dayton of Bonfield; special lifelong friend Connie Hubbard of Wilmington, and her son Joshua, who was like a son to David.

He was preceded in death by his parents George and Ilah.

Cremation rites have been accorded and friends and family will gather at Baskerville Funeral Home, 700 East Kahler Road in Wilmington, on Saturday September 13, 2014 from 9:00 AM until time of Memorial Service, 10:00 AM. Inurnment will be in Eldridgeville Cemetery in rural Cabery at a later date.
