Darrell Showen

Age 78 of Gardner and formerly Wisconsin, passed away Wednesday February 9, 2011 at Provena Saint Joseph Medical Center in Joliet. Born January 15, 1933 in Desoto, Wisconsin, Darrell was a Veteran of the United States Army.

Survivors include his significant other Charlotte Neu; three step-children: Donna (Jack) Walker of Mesa, Arizona, Diane Brock of Wilmington and Daniel (Lisa) Neu of Braidwood; twenty four grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren; nine brother and sisters and his best companion 'Minnie'.

Darrell was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Laura Lee Showen; grandson David William and two sisters.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday February 15, 2011 from 9:30AM until time of remembrances 11:30AM at Freitag-Reeves & Baskerville Funeral Home, 700 East Kahler Road in Wilmington. Burial will follow at 12:30PM with Military Honors in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood.

Pallbearers will be: Brian Wandless, Steven Wandless, Chris Neu, Cody Nicholson, Jonathan Frost and Daniel Neu.
