Daniel Gene Westrick

Age 64 of Diamond, Illinois, Daniel died Sunday, November 17, 2024 at his home in Diamond.

Born January 28, 1960 in Auburn, Indiana, Daniel Gene was a son of Herman and Betty (Nodine) Westrick. He was raised and educated in Wilmington, Illinois and graduated from Wilmington High School. After high school, Daniel attended Cosmetology School to be trained as a hair stylist. He worked for many years in the industry, most recently at C'zar Salon in Naperville, Illinois. He also worked for several years at Joe's Flower Shop in Lisle, Illinois.

Daniel was a true creative whose artistic flair was evident at an early age. He showed an appreciation for art while in school, through art class and working on set productions, and as an adult he enjoyed painting watercolors. Daniel loved all artistic mediums, from painting to theatrics and music, they brought him great joy. He was a simple man, with an eccentric side, whose direct, bold nature and sharp sense of humor will be truly missed.

Survivors include his partner of 31 years, Stephen Davis of Diamond; one sister, Christina Fiedler of Joliet, Illinois, and one brother, James Westrick of California; and his niece and nephew: Nicole and Joshua Fiedler.

Daniel was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Betty, and one brother, Gary Westrick.

Per Daniel's wishes, cremation rites are being accorded and no services are being planned at this time.
