Age 59 of Morris, formerly Braceville, passed away Saturday evening, April 25, 2015 at the Joliet Area Community Hospice Home.

Born May 3, 1955 in La Crosse, WI, Daniel was a son of the late Louis and Ruby Olson-Semlar.  He was raised and educated in Dwight, where he graduated from Dwight High School with the Class of 1973. Daniel was known for his love of attending stock car races and car shows, playing horseshoes, and most especially spending time with his grandson.

Survivors include his two children: Jason (Barb) Semlar and Krystal Semlar both of Morris; his grandson Tyler; three siblings: Janie Semlar of Charleston, MO, Sue Surprenant of Bourbonnais and Steve Semlar of Litchfield, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Daniel was preceded in death by his parents.

Cremation rites have been accorded, and a visitation will be held on Friday May 1, 2015 from 4:00 PM until the time of Memorial Service at 7:00 PM, at Reeves Funeral Home, 408 East Washington Street (one block west of IL Route 47) in Morris. Burial will follow Saturday May 2, 2015 at 10:00 AM in Round Grove Cemetery in rural Dwight.

Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Daniel’s memory to Joliet Area Community Hospice.
