Dan Schrempf

Age 61 of Essex, passed away Tuesday morning, September 20, 2016 at Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood.

Born September 17, 1955 in Kankakee, Daniel Lee is a son of Gerald Schrempf of Seminole, Florida and the late Blanche Schrempf (nee Saltzgiver). He was raised in Aroma Park and graduated from Kankakee High School. Dan retired from Ironworkers Local #444 and was currently employed with Whitmore Ace Hardware in Wilmington. He attended Life Church in Morris, and will be remembered for his love of golf, fishing, hunting and trap shooting.

Survivors include his father Gerald; his wife Kathie (nee Sanders), whom he married June 21, 2003; children: Sondra Senesac of Gilman, Danielle Schrempf of Kankakee, Andy Romines of Cedarville, Arkansas, Amie (Jerry) Olsen of Gardner, Beth (Mike) Sukley of Cedarville, Arkansas and Paul Romines of Dallas, Texas; numerous grandchildren; his mother-in-law Ruth Sanders of Coal City; one brother Jerry (Wendy) Schrempf of Kankakee; brothers and sisters-in-law: Neil Sanders (Cyndi Campbell) of Pekin, Cindy (Don) Berglund of Gardner, Connie (Kevin) Klug of Streator, Mike (Cindy) Sanders of Morris and Sue Sanders of Gibson City, and numerous nieces and nephews, as well as his faithful companion Sadie.

Dan was preceded in death by his mother Blanche; two sisters: Brenda Siebert and Diana Corona; father-in-law: Edgar "Bub" Sanders and brother-in-law: Wayne Sanders.

Visitation and video tribute will be held on Friday, September 23, 2016 between the hours of 4:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. at Reeves Funeral Home, 75 North Broadway (one block north of Illinois Route 113) in Coal City. Funeral services will follow Saturday morning, September 24th at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home.

Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Dan's memory to a veteran's charity of the donor's choosing.
