Cynthia J. Connor

Cynthia J. Connor, 78, of Morris, passed away peacefully at the Gardens of Park Pointe, Tuesday, January 2nd, 2024.
She was born on October 12th, 1945, to the late Frank and Marjorie Connor, in Morris. She was a graduate of Morris Community High School and attended the University of Illinois and Northern Illinois University receiving both Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Education. She was a teacher, principal and administrator in Belvidere, Illinois, and loved her time spent in the educational field.
Surviving are her son, Garret Wheeler (Jodi) of Morris, three grandchildren, Jack Wheeler, Emerson Wheeler of Morris, and Aiden Johnson of Rockford, Illinois, brother Dr. Gregory (Barbara) Connor of Hartsville, South Carolina, sister Melanie (Thomas) Haas of Morris, Illinois and sister Terrie (Ed) Didrickson of Green Valley, Arizona.
Cynthia is preceded in death by her parents and her daughter, Amy.
She enjoyed most spending time with her family. She especially enjoyed watching her grandchildren play sports and traveled to all their sporting events to cheer them on. She was also fond of her nine nephews and proud of their many accomplishments.
As it was Cynthia’s wish cremation rites have been accorded.
Memorials may be given to Morris Community High School Athletics.
A Memorial Visitation for Cynthia will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 11th, 2024 at the Fruland Funeral Home in Morris. A Memorial Mass will take place on Friday, January 12th, 2024, at 10:30 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 600 E. Jackson St. in Morris.
