Age 88 of Morris, passed away Monday February 14, 2011 at Morris Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.

Born September 27, 1922 in Chebanse, Curtis was a son of the late Curtis, Sr., and Hazel Turner-Riley. He was raised and educated in Chebanse and graduated from Chebanse High School with the Class of 1941. On April 17, 1949, Curtis married Hilda Frank in the Methodist Church in Kankakee, and together they lived in the Kankakee area until moving to Morris in 1968. Curtis was a dairy farmer from 1942 to 1977, and then went onto be a custodian at the Shabbona Grade School, where he worked until his retirement in 1986. Curtis was a 4-H leader for 8 years, and can be remembered as an avid sports fan, particularly following the Chicago Cubs and Bulls.

Curtis was the husband of the late Hilda (nee Frank), whom preceded him on April 16, 2008; father of twins: Sandra (Ted) Boyd of Morris and the late Steven Riley, Linda (David) Razunas of Dwight, Carol Riley of Springfield, Missouri; twins: Marilyn (George, Jr.) Lestina of Braidwood and Mark (Donna) Riley of Morris and Susan (Greg) Hutchings of St. Augustine, Florida; grandfather of five: Allison (Craig) Norris, Katie Razunas, Ian Dunbar, Jackson Riley and Lucas Riley; step-grandfather of George Lestina, III; brother of Bernice (the late Dale) Pool of Kankakee, Ina (the late Ralph) Rathman of Herscher, the late Genevieve (Dauntless) Gruber and the late James Riley and sister-in-law of Dolores (Dick) Fitch. Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

Visitation and Video Tribute will be held on Sunday February 20, 2011 between the hours of 4:00PM and 7:00PM at Reeves Funeral Home, 408 East Washington Street (one block East of Illinois Route 47) in Morris. Funeral Service will follow Monday February 21st at 10:00AM in the funeral home with Reverend Scott McClellan from the First United Methodist Church in Morris officiating. Burial will follow in Sample Cemetery in Morris. Pallbearers will be: Ted Boyd, David Razunas, George Lestina, Jr., Greg Hutchings, Ian Dunbar and Craig Norris and honorary pallbearers will be: Jackson Riley and Lucas Riley.

Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Curtis' memory to Grundy Community Volunteer Hospice, 518 West Illinois Avenue, Morris, Illinois 60450 or Joliet Area Community Hospice, 250 Waterstone Circle, Joliet, Illinois 60431.
