Crystal Lynn Monbrum

Age 33 of Coal City, passed away suddenly at her home Thursday afternoon February 11, 2010. Born December 31, 1976 in Beardstown, Illinois. Crystal was raised and educated in Joliet and was married to Richard C. Monbrum. Crystal was proud of her Native American heritage, loved animals, collecting dolphins, enjoyed Johnny Depp movies and listening to Jonathan Davis of the group Korn. Crystal's true passion was taking care of her children, which were her pride and joy.

Survivors include her husband: Richard Monbrum; three children: Taylor M. Monbrum, Zakkary T. Mitchell and Mitchell N. "Nick" Parks, IV; step-father: Dan Anderson of Coal City: four brothers and sisters: Michael Otellete of Missouri, Brandi (Chris) McSpadden of Hawaii, Patrick Enk of Coal City, Danielle R. Anderson of Coal City; three sisters-in-law: Susan (Larry) Wells of Essex, Jean (Gerry) Salinas of Coal City, and Kathy (Vinnie) Vint of Mazon; nieces and nephews: Gracie Rae Enk, Triston McSpadden with another expected in May; mother and father-in-law: Roger and Darlene Monbrum of Coal City, Grandmothers: Joyce Anderson of Joliet and Peggy Phillips of Texas as well as Aunt Penny Phillips of Texas and Uncle Russell Phillips of Beardstown.

Crystal was preceded in death by her step-sister: Jessica Lynn Anderson and brother-in-law Rodney (Lori) Monbrum.

Visitation will be held Monday, February 15, 2010 between the hours of 6:00 pm and 8:00pm with memory sharing at 7:30pm at Reeves Funeral Home, 75 North Broadway (one block North of Illinois Route 113) in Coal City.

Preferred memorials in lieu of flowers may be made as gifts in Crystal's memory to any non-kill animal humane society or animal shelter of the donors' choosing.
