Age 42 of Chicago and formerly of Sugar Grove, Illinois died unexpectedly on Tuesday July 9, 2024.
Born on May 25, 1982, in Downers Grove, Illinois, Colin was the son of Moira (Wayne) Shoger of Wilmington and the late Terrence Sutte. He received his education and graduated from Kaneland High School with the Class of 2000. A true artisan in carpentry, Colin's craftsmanship knew no bounds as he skillfully owned and operated Maher Construction. Beyond his talents in woodworking, he found solace and joy in strumming the guitar, writing music, and creating poetry.
Colin's adventurous spirit led him on motorcycle journeys and memorable road trips across the country; he was a storyteller at heart, always ready to share his vibrant experiences. While known for his sense of humor and jestful nature, Colin's greatest role was that of a father who treasured every moment witnessing his son Holden blossom into the remarkable individual he is today. His zest for life was evident to all who knew him, leaving behind an invaluable treasury of memories that will endure through the ages.
Survivors include his son, Holden; mother Moira (Wayne) Shoger of Wilmington; three sisters: Caitlin (Greg) Etheridge of Aurora, Brianne Lucchetti of Wilmington and Ashlyn Lucchetti of Crest Hill; his maternal grandmother, Sue (the late Jim) Seegers of Boynton Beach, Florida and his best friend and the mother of his son, Sarah Stombres of Chicago.
Colin was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Craig Maher.
