"Skip"

Age 70 of Morris, passed away Thursday evening August 22, 2013 at Morris Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.

Born February 15, 1943 in Morris, Skip is a son of Charlotte Marie Hildy (nee Kowalczyck) of Morris and the late Clyde Chester Hildy, Sr. He was raised in Morris; graduated from Morris High School with the class of 1961, and honorably served as a paratrooper in the United States Army 82nd Airborne Division. On April 12, 1969 Skip married Mary Ellen Cheshareck in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Morris. He worked at Diamond International Corporation in Morris, and was a Laborer with Local #75, before entering into the Pipefitters Union Local #597, from where he retired. Skip was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Morris and the Morris American Legion Post #294. He was a true family guy, who will be remembered as an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, canoeing and camping, as well as running, biking, carpentry and photography. Skip leaves behind memories of many memorable and well planned annual winter campouts, which he shared with family and friends.

Survivors include his wife Mary Ellen; two children: John (Stacy) Hildy of Elmhurst and Jamie (Paul) Sikora of Coal City; six grandchildren: Camden Hildy, Simon Hildy, Mason Hildy, Lola Lavezzi, Ethan Sikora and Jocelyn Sikora; his mother Charlotte Hildy of Morris; brothers and sisters: Judy (the late Charles) Larson, Wallace (Barbara) Hildy and Loreen (the late Kenneth) Vlk, all of Morris, Frank (Cindy) Hildy of Maryland, Tony (Stephanie) Hildy of Morris and Ed (Elizabeth) Hildy of Oswego; brothers-and sisters-in-law: Robert (the late Michele) Cheshareck of Arizona and Paul Cheshareck, Barbara Cheshareck and Christine Seng, all of Morris and numerous nieces and nephews.

Skip was preceded in death by his father Clyde Chester Hildy, Sr.; two grandsons: Joseph and Virgil Lavezzi and one brother-in-law: David Cheshareck.

The family wishes to extend their most sincere appreciation to Skip's wonderful caregivers: Carina Davis and Eleanor Bessman.

Visitation will be held on Thursday morning August 29, 2013 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 600 East Jackson Street in Morris - from 8:00AM until time of Memorial Mass 11:00AM. Reverend Ed. Howe, CR will officiate.
