Cleo J. Gagliardo
Age 81 of Coal City, passed away Monday morning, December 10, 2012 at Morris Hospital.
Born September 4, 1931 in Dwight, Cleo was a daughter of the late Myrtle (nee Anderson) and Willard Brooks. She was raised in Gardner and enjoyed spending time with her grandparents on the Anderson farm in rural Dwight. Cleo was a 1949 graduate of Gardner-South Wilmington High School, and thereafter married Marvin Joseph Gagliardo in Saint Patrick Catholic Church in Dwight. She held a position as an AVON Representative and also supported and assisted her husband Marvin with M. Gagliardo Painting and Decorating. Cleo was a woman of fashion, who enjoyed shopping and appreciated music. She and Marvin greatly enjoyed dancing, and Cleo accompanied Marvin to his Military Service Reunions, where she established and maintained many friendships. In the past years Cleo took pleasure in bike riding, cooking for others, especially her grandchildren and playing euchre. She will be remembered for being truly devoted to her family and she cherished the time spent with her grandchildren.
Survivors include her daughters: Debra (Henry) Condotti of Shorewood and Patricia (Scott) Davis of Neenah, Wisconsin; five grandchildren: Ashley Condotti of Lisle, Nicholas Condotti of Shorewood, Sarah Davis of Chicago, Seth Davis of Neenah, Wisconsin and Christopher Condotti of South Barrington; sister-in-law: Dolores (the late Leslie) Hertenstein of Coal City, and two nieces: Susan Boresi of Coal City and Sherrie Taylor of Morris.
Cleo was preceded in death by her parents; husband Marvin on June 17, 2011; brother-in-law: Maynard (Patti) Gagliardo and one great niece Gina Boresi.
Visitation and Video Tribute will be held on Friday December 14, 2012 between the hours of 5:00PM and 7:00PM at Reeves Funeral Home, 75 North Broadway (one block North of Illinois Route 113) in Coal City. Funeral services will follow Saturday December 15th at 10:00AM in Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Roman Catholic Church, 245 South Kankakee Street in Coal City, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated with Reverend Robert Noesen officiating. Burial will be in Braceville-Gardner Cemetery, where Cleo will be laid to rest with her husband Marvin.
Pallbearers will be: Seth Davis, Nicholas Condotti, Scott Davis, Henry Condotti, Bill Boresi and Jim Madison.
Preferred memorials in lieu of flowers may be made as gifts in Cleo's memory to the Assumption Building Fund, 245 South Kankakee Street, Coal City, Illinois 60416 or to Easter Seals of the Joliet Region, 212 Barney Drive, Joliet, Illinois 60435 (www.joliet.easterseals.com).
