Chloe "Red" Lynn McCully

Age 17 of Wilmington, Illinois, died Saturday June 17, 2023 as the result of injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident.

Born January 11, 2006 in Joliet, Illinois, Chloe is a daughter of Carli McCully. She was raised in Wilmington and currently entering her senior year in High School. Chloe, also referred to by many as “Red”, was active in past years with both Soccer and Cheer-leading at Wilmington High School and worked part-time at the local Dollar General. She was a Christian who had a strong bond with her mother; loved doing hair and nails, and had a great affection for cows. Red was proud to be only two classes from earning her high school diploma early. She loved children, and children loved her. Red enjoyed being on the water, swimming, boating and fishing.

Gone too soon, may Red’s loved ones and friends always feel her presence in their hearts and forever treasure the fond memories she leaves behind.

Survivors include her parents; grandparents: Terry and Penny McCully and Corena Gilbert; great grandmothers: Joanne Damakowski and Marilyn Jackson; many aunts, uncles and cousins; her ‘Forever Fishie’ Andrew, and her pet rats, Stitch and Cheese.

Chloe was preceded in death by her uncle, Chris McCully and great aunt, Donna Stephen.

The family will receive friends for a casual visitation (which they suggest casual attire, including hoodies and pajama pants) at Baskerville Funeral Home, 700 East Kahler Road in Wilmington on Wednesday, June 21, 2023 between the hours of 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. and again on Thursday morning, June 22, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. until time of funeral service, 11:00 a.m.

Burial will follow be in Mount Olivet Cemetery in Wilmington.
