Charlotte Darlene Simpkin

Age 55 of Coal City, passed away Friday March 06, 2009 at her home.

Born June 30, 1953 in Marion, Indiana, Charlotte was a daughter of the late Oscar and Doris Dixon-Loftis. She was raised and educated in Marion and on September 09, 1977 married Terry Simpkin. Together Charlotte and Terry have lived in Coal City since 1986. In her free time Charlotte enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family and grandchildren, whom she truly adored.

Survivors include her husband Terry; two children: Eric (Elizabeth) Simpkin of Roscoe, Illinois and Teresa Simpkin of Coal City; three grandchildren: Tyler, Logan and Hannah Simpkin; two brothers: Brian Loftis and Allen (Toni) Loftis, both of Killeen, Texas; two sisters: Michelle (the late Gene) Lines and Matilda (David) Dodson, both of Marion, Indiana and one brother-in-law Steve Stump of Marion, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Charlotte was preceded in death by her parents; one sister Cheri Stump and one son in infancy.

Visitation and Video Tribute will be held on Tuesday March 10, 2009 from 9:00AM until time of funeral service 12:00 Noon at Reeves Funeral Home, 75 North Broadway (one block North of Illinois Route 113) in Coal City. Rev. Ron Hart from Assumption Catholic Church in Coal City will officiate.

Preferred memorials in lieu of flowers may be made as gifts in Charlotte's memory to the American Cancer Society or the Alzheimer's Association.
