Charlotte G. Schmidt

Age 88 of Wilmington and formerly Custer Park, Troy Township and Joliet, passed away Sunday May 12, 2013 at Rosewood Care Center in Joliet.

Born November 1, 1924 in Joliet, Charlotte was a daughter of the late Earl and Charlotte McGovern-Dougherty. Charlotte held employment with Illinois Bell Telephone Company for 12 years, was a receptionist for Silver Cross Hospital for 3 years and for General Charles G. Dawes for 10 years, and worked as a care giver for several years.

Survivors include her daughter Deborah Anne Schmidt of Wilmington and one niece Honey Lou Dougherty. Charlotte is preceded in death by her parents; three brothers: Charles, John and James and three sisters: Mary Alice, Angela and Virgilia.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday May 15, 2013 from 1:00PM until time of funeral service 2:00PM at Freitag-Reeves & Baskerville Funeral Home, 700 East Kahler Road in Wilmington. Reverend Steve Bondi from Saint Rose Catholic Church in Wilmington will officiate.

Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Wilmington.
