Charlotte “Judy” Neu

Age 74 of Wilmington, passed away Saturday April 19, 2014 at Heritage Health in Dwight.

Born August 20, 1939 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Charlotte Judith was a daughter of the late Walter and Charlotte Portlance-Dettmann. She worked as a waitress at many of the local restaurants in the area over the years, and retired from P.C.I. in Wilmington. Charlotte was a great crafter and enjoyed knitting, crocheting and playing bingo.

Survivors include her children: Donna (Jack) Walker of Mesa, Arizona, Diane Brock of Wilmington and Daniel (Lisa) Neu of Braidwood; (26) grandchildren: Michael (Jessica) Shireman, Laura Shireman, Stephanie (Carlos) Turcios, Jonathan Frost, Christopher (Kristy) Neu, Brian (Ashley) Wandless, Steven Wandless, Elizabeth Brock, Karalynn Brock, Kendall Brock, Rebecca Neu, Jordan Neu, Payton Neu, Joshua Neu, Rose (Mike) Barder, Jessica (Keith) Clark, Cassandra (Mike) Mantyla, Valerie (Russ) Payne, Cody (Chelsey – Fiancé) Nicholson, Alyssa Nicholson, Raianne Brand, Jakob Brand, Katelyn Lawrence, Cheryl Cortez, Crystal Turner and Carmin Buza; (29) great grandchildren; one sister Carol (Weldon) Rorer of Golconda; two sisters-in-law: Dorothy Hays and Vila Simon, both of Florida and numerous nieces and nephews.

Charlotte was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands: Russell Neu and Darrell Showen; daughter Laura Lee Showen in infancy; grandson David William Frost; three brothers: William, Richard and John Hays; three sisters, and her special aunt Elaine Neihls.

Visitation and video tribute will be held on Friday April 25, 2014 from 9:00AM until time of funeral service 11:00AM at Baskerville Funeral Home, 700 East Kahler Road in Wilmington. Pastor Ray Jones will officiate and burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery, Wilmington.

Pallbearers will be: Michael Shireman, Chris Neu, Jonathan Frost, Brian Wandless, Steven Wandless and Cody Nicholson.
