"Tootie"

Age 82 of Braidwood, passed away Friday February 6, 2015 at Regency Care of Morris.

Born August 4, 1932, Charlotte Elaine was a daughter of the late Clarence and Olive Jane (Shear) Goldsberry. She was raised and educated in Wilmington and Coal City, and on October 25, 1949 Charlotte married Harold Gonis in Wilmington. Tootie will be remembered for her love of the outdoors, fishing and feeding the squirrels. She enjoyed to crochet and babysit, and spent countless hours working crossword puzzles and completing word searches.

Survivors include eight children: Donna (Larry) Goad of Braidwood, Linda (Marty) Housman of Emington, Harold (Kathy) Gonis of Braidwood, Jimmy (Shereena) Gonis of Steeleville, Robert (Anita) Gonis of Wilmington, Kenneth Gonis of South Wilmington, and Roger Gonis of Braidwood; son-in-law, Gary Krug of Braidwood; seventeen grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren, and one brother Bill (Christine) Goldsberry of Missouri.

Charlotte was preceded in death by her parents; husband Harold on August 6, 2014; daughter Doris Krug; aunt Charlotte (Kenneth) Pearson and her brothers and sisters: Clarence Goldsberry, Jr., George Goldsberry, Beatrice Korelc, Eleanor Mansfield and Elizabeth Mazurkiewicz.

Visitation will be held on Monday February 9, 2015 between the hours of 4:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. at Reeves Funeral Home, 75 North Broadway (one block North of Illinois Route 113) in Coal City. Graveside services will follow Tuesday morning February 10th at 10:00 a.m. in North Cemetery, Essex, where Tootie will be laid to rest with her late husband Harold. Reverend Thomas Kingery from the First United Methodist Church in Wilmington will officiate.

Preferred memorials in lieu of flowers may be made as gifts in Tootie's memory to her family for their distribution.
