Age 84 of South Wilmington, and formerly McLeansboro, Illinois, passed away Sunday morning January 10, 2010 at the home of his son in South Wilmington.

Born June 09, 1925 in Sikeston, Missouri, Charles was a son of the late Alanzo and Elsie Trout-Wheeler. He was raised and educated in Hamilton County, Illinois and on February 3, 1962 married Millie Lewis in Lawrenceville, Illinois. Charles was employed as a Correctional Office in Joliet from 1971 to 1987 and was a member of South Wilmington Sportsman's Club. He was known for trap shooting and truly enjoyed hunting.

Survivors include his wife Millie; three children: Kenneth (Rebecca) Wheeler of South Wilmington and Chuckie (Mae) Wheeler and Susan (Dennis) Friedman, both of McLeansboro; several grandchildren and great grandchildren and one sister Judith Bluett of McLeansboro.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents; one sister Nellie Thompson and two brothers: Kenneth and Leslie Wheeler.

Cremation rites have been accorded per the wishes of the family and preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Charles memory to Hospice of Kankakee Valley, 482 Main Street NW, Bourbonnais, Illinois 60914.
