Charles Brian Smith

Age 58 of Chicago, Illinois and formerly of Wilmington, Illinois, died Saturday, December 31, 2022 at Ascension St. Francis Hospital in Evanston, Illinois.

Born July 2, 1964 in Evergreen Park, Illinois, Charles Brian was a son of William Thomas and Ida Lucy (Campana) Smith.

Raised and educated in Wilmington, Illinois; Charles was a 1978 graduate of St. Rose School, and a 1982 graduate of Joliet Catholic High School.

Survivors include his two brothers: Tony Smith of Chicago and Tom (Gretchen) Smith of Tampa, Florida and formerly of Wilmington, and one nephew, Matthew Smith of Tampa.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Bill and Ida Smith, and his sister-in-law, Sandra Toussaint Smith.

Cremation rites have been accorded, and the family will gather for a graveside service on Wednesday, January 11, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. in Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery in Wilmington, where he will be laid to rest with his parents. Rev. Sebastian Gargol from St. Rose Parish will preside.

Preferred memorials in lieu of flowers may be made as gifts in Charles memory to Kuzma Care Cottage, 635 S. Main Street, Wilmington, IL 60481.
