Charles John Roudis
"Chuck" / "Rudy"
Age 64 of Morris, passed away unexpectedly on Friday April 1, 2011.
Born August 17, 1946 in Morris, Charles was a son of the late Charles John Roudis, Sr. and Ann H. Kulpa-Roudis. He was raised and educated in Morris and was a graduate of Morris Community High School. Chuck was a Veteran of the United States Army, having served during the Vietnam Era, and most recently worked for numerous years in security at the local nuclear power stations. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Morris, the Morris Lions Club, Polish National Alliance (PNA) and the National Rifleman's Association (NRA). Chuck belonged to the Downers Grove Shooting Club and Area #1 Recreation Club, where he enjoyed hunting and fishing. He can be remembered as an avid outdoorsman and marksman, who had a talent for long range shooting. Chuck was a great movie buff and moreover a devoted grandfather who cherished the time spent with his grandchildren.
Survivors include his two children: Christopher (Nancy) Roudis of Minooka and Lorrie (Erik) Toler of Morris; two grandchildren: Olivia Toler and Owen Toler; one brother John (Debbie) Roudis of Morris; two nephews: Stephen (Angela) Roudis of Morris and Joseph (Sara) Roudis of Florida and one great nephew Gavin Roudis, as well as several cousins and numerous friends.
Visitation and Video Tribute will be held on Wednesday April 6, 2011 between the hours of 5:00PM and 8:00PM at Reeves Funeral Home, 408 East Washington Street (one block East of Illinois Route 47) in Morris. Funeral services will follow Thursday April 7th at 10:00AM in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 514 East Jackson Street in Morris, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated with Reverend Ed Howe, CR officiating.
Burial with full military honors provided by the Morris Color Guard will be in Mount Carmel Cemetery in Morris.
Preferred memorials in lieu of flowers may be made as gifts in Charles' memory to Immaculate Conception School, 505 East North Street, Morris, Illinois 60450; Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 516 East Jackson Street, Morris, Illinois 60450 or Ducks Unlimited of Illinois Memorial Program, One Waterfowl Way, Memphis, Tennessee 38120 (www.Ducks.org) .
