Charles I. Bohac
Age 86 of Morris and formerly Downers Grove passed away Monday February 17, 2014 at Morris Hospital.
Born December 28, 1927 in Chicago, Charles was a son of the late Charles V. and Zoe (Hannum) Bohac. He was raised and educated in Chicago and honorably served in the United States Coast Guard. On July 28, 1951, Charles married Sophie P. Pietrzak in Chicago and she survives. Charles owned and operated Bohac Excavating in Morris; was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Morris, Disabled American Veterans and the American Legion. Charles enjoyed Woodworking and will be remembered as an outdoorsman who loved fishing and hunting.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years Sophie; seven children: David (Joan) Bohac of Burbank, Victoria Zeiger of Downers Grove, Chuck (Ginger) Bohac of Hawthorn Woods, Yvonne (Jack) Allen of St. Louis, Robert (Pam) Bohac of Downers Grove and Sharon Bohac and Lori Quigg (Ross Monk), both of Jacksonville; twelve grandchildren; six great grandchildren and one sister Janet Kowalski of Plainfield.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents; two sons in infancy; one grandson and one brother John.
Visitation and Video Tribute will be held on Sunday February 23, 2014 between the hours of 1:00PM and 5:00PM at Reeves Funeral Home, 408 East Washington Street (one block East of Illinois Route 47) in Morris. The family will again receive friends on Monday February 24th at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 600 East Jackson Street in Morris from 9:30AM until time of funeral service 10:30AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated with Reverend Ed Howe, CR officiating. A memorial luncheon will be held in the Saint Angela Room at the conclusion of the services, and burial with full military honors will follow in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood at 2:00PM.
Pallbearers will be: Jason Zeiger, Michael Bohac, Chad Bohac, Aric Akbani, Sean Akbani, Blake Pettinelli, Brett Pettinelli and Austin Quigg.
