Charlene "Pat" Zawrazky

Age 74 of Coal City passed away Sunday June 24, 2012 at her home.

Born August 18, 1937 in Joliet, Pat is a daughter of the late Charles and Mona Tarran-Girot. She was raised and educated in Coal City and graduated with the Coal City High School Class of 1955. On April 18, 1959 Pat married Raymond "Zach" Zawrazky in Custer Park and he preceded her on April 18, 2011. When Pat's children were in school, she was employed with the Coal City School District in the school cafeteria. She later worked as a hairdresser and was a sales representative for AVON. Pat retired from the Morris branch of the Illinois Secretary of State Drivers License Facility, where she was an examiner. Pat was a member of Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Roman Catholic Church in Coal City, the Grundy County Republican Women's Club, and she held the position of trustee for Felix Township for numerous years. She enjoyed being active in local politics, and assisted as an election judge during election season. Pat will be remembered for her love of crafting with her husband Zach, shopping, eating out and garage sales.

Survivors include her three sons: Kirk (Colleen) Zawrazky of Morris, Keith (Karen) Zawrazky of Morton Grove and Kevin (Natalie) Zawrazky of Glenview; grandchildren: Erik Zawrazky and Tracy Zawrazky, both of Morton Grove and Frank Zawrazky and Nicolette Zawrazky, both of Glenview; step-grandchildren: Brandy (Michael) Bruell of Somonauk and Patrick Gregory and Renae Gregory, both of Joliet; great-grandchildren: Michael Bruell, Jr., Matthew Bruell, Christina Morales, Angelina Morales and Alaina Morales and her uncle: Don McCormick of Mazon.

Pat was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Zach.

Visitation and Video Tribute will be held on Wednesday June 27, 2012 between the hours of 4:00PM and 8:00PM at Reeves Funeral Home, 75 North Broadway Street (one block North of Illinois Route 113), in Coal City. Funeral Services will follow on Thursday June 28, 2012 at 10:00AM at Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Roman Catholic Church, 245 South Kankakee Street, in Coal City. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated with Reverend Robert Noesen officiating and burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Wilmington.

Preferred memorials can be made as gifts in Pat's memory to the Charles G. Girot Scholarship Fund or Joliet Area Community Hospice.
