Catherine Kulas
Age 94, formerly of Chicago, passed away Sunday evening January 13, 2013 at Heritage Health in Dwight.
Born December 15, 1918 in Chicago, Catherine was a daughter of the late Francis and Bridget Maloney-Kulas. She was raised in Chicago and graduated from Nativity of Our Lord in 1936. Catherine worked in banking her entire life, and retired from Southwest Federal Savings after more than 40 years. She was a former member of Saint Gall Parish in Chicago and will be remembered for her love of the Chicago White Sox and traveling.
Surviving is one brother Frank Kulas of Wilmington; one brother-in-law Stanley Gill of Chicago and numerous nieces and nephews, as well as grand nieces and nephews.
Catherine was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters: Margaret Ziolek and Loretta Gill and one brother in infancy.
Visitation and Video Tribute will be held on Wednesday January 16, 2013 between the hours of 4:00PM and 8:00PM and Thursday January 17th from 10:00AM until 11:00AM at Freitag-Reeves & Baskerville Funeral Home, 700 East Kahler Road in Wilmington. Funeral services will follow Thursday at 11:30AM in Saint Rose Catholic Church, 603 South Kankakee Street in Wilmington. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated with Reverend Steve Bondi and Deacon Don Dyer officiating. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Justice. Pallbearers will be: Bob Kulas, Keith Chase-Ziolek, John Gill, Tom Gill, John Rolfs and Tommy Rolfs.
