Catherine Agnes Hines

Age 96 of Coal City, passed away Monday morning, July 23, 2012 at Morris Hospital.

Born October 02, 1915 in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, Catherine was a daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Sadie. She was raised and educated in Braidwood, where she also married Daniel Paul Hines in 1934. Catherine was the co-owner Kit & Dahl catering and was a member of Assumption Catholic Church, where she sang in the choir. Catherine will be remembered for her love of baking, cooking and spending time with her family.

Survivors include her four children: Jim (JoAnn) Hines of Coal City, Robert Hines of San Francisco, California, Michael (Bonita) Hines of Coal City and Bill (Rhonda) Hines of Braceville; six grandchildren: Alyssa Hines of Braceville, Michelle Bell of Portland, Oregon, Michael (Christi) Hines of Chicago, Perry (Lori) Hines of Coal City, Jeffrey (Patti) Hines of Gardner and Brian Hines of Coal City; nine great grandchildren: Nakita Boyajean, Kaden Zelhart, Jack Bell, Owen Hines, Jake Hines, Matthew (Cindi) Hines, Aaron (Toni) Hines, Jennifer Mueller and Kyle Hines, and one great-great granddaughter: Avery Hines with another expected in October. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

Catherine was preceded in death by her parents; husband Daniel Paul Hines in 1977; brothers: George Sadie, Louie Sadie, Mose Sadie and Michael Sadie and sisters: Barbara Sadie and Selma Cory.

Visitation will be held on Friday, July 27, 2012 between the hours of 4:00PM and 8:00PM at Reeves Funeral Home, 75 North Broadway (one block North of Illinois Route 113) in Coal City. Funeral services will follow on Saturday, July 28th at 10:00AM in Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, 245 South Kankakee Street in Coal City. Reverend Robert Noesen will officiate and burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Wilmington.

Preferred memorials in lieu of flowers may be made as gifts in Catherine's memory to a charity of the donor's choosing.
