Age 73, of Morris, passed away Monday, October 14, 2013 at Presence St. Joseph Medical Center in Joliet after her courageous six month battle with a rare Central Nervous System Vasculitis.

Born January 8, 1940 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Carolyn was the daughter of the late Paul and Esther Snyder-Galster. She was raised and educated in Pennsylvania where she graduated from Lawrence Park High School and earned a Masters of Art from Edinboro University. Carolyn taught at Mercyhurst Preparatory School in Erie, Pennsylvania until 1982, and then married James Allen Jedlicka on May 26, 1984 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The Jedlicka's then moved to Morris where Carolyn was the owner of the Art School of Morris from 1985 to 1995. Carolyn was an avid reader and was a member of the Morris Library. She enjoyed self-patterned knitting, baking, and painting. Much of Carolyn's country life was shared with her dog, Hansel, and her two cats. Lisa and Carl adopted Hansel.

Survivors include three children: Carl Frederick "Rick" Pommer of Erie, PA., Lisa L. (Carl) Gollihur of Shorewood and Lore Lynn (Reese) McCauley of Parkland, FL.; five grandchildren: Reese McCauley, Jr., Margot McCauley, Carl McCauley, Olivia McCauley and step-grandson Carl Dean (Pam) Gollihur; and one step-great-grandchild: Carl Austin Gollihur as well as her best friend, Lois Wiley of Waterford, PA.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband and parents.

Per Carolyn's wishes cremation rites have been accorded.

Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Carolyn's memory to her family for their distribution.
