Carole Ann Miller
Age 75 of Coal City and formerly Plainfield, passed away Saturday morning August 9, 2014 at Presence Saint Joseph Medical Center in Joliet.
Born March 22, 1939 in Chicago, Carole Ann was a daughter of the late James and Anna Loretta (Smotherman) Welsh. She was raised and educated in Chicago and on October 18, 1958, Carole married Edward Robert Miller.
Carole was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed planning family parties for any occasion, and St. Patrick's Day and Christmas were her favorites. Carole loved game nights with the grandkids and attending all their events. Many family memories were made on Gull Lake in Wisconsin. Carole also loved playing bingo and cards with the ladies.
Survivors include her husband Edward R. Miller, Sr.; children: Cathy (Kirk) Rouse, Deborah (Jack) Gockman, Janet (Daniel) Hutchings, Carolyn (Scott) Hendricksen and Erin (Mark) Christopher, all of Coal City; (20) grandchildren: Zachary, Nick, Ben and Katie Rouse, Kevin (Shauna) Gockman, John (Kias) Gockman, Austin (Mark) Novak, Maggie Gockman, Leah and Chris Hajdu, Payton Hutchings, Brian Goff, Jenni, Alyssa, Danielle and Hannah Miller, and Owen, Aiden, Laura and Ty Christopher; (6) great grandchildren: Amber, Kyle, Troy, Lennan, Liv and Roland; one brother James Welsh of Michigan; two sisters: Barbara (Tim) Robb of LaGrange and Irene Jensen of Worth and numerous brothers-in-law, sister-in-law, nieces and nephews.
Carole was preceded in death by her parents; daughter Laura Lee Miller (1991) and son Edward R. Miller, Jr. (2013).
Visitation and video tribute will be held on Wednesday August 13, 2014 between the hours of 4:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. at Reeves Funeral Home, 75 North Broadway (one block north of Illinois Route 113) in Coal City.
Funeral services will follow Thursday morning at 10:00 a.m. in Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Roman Catholic Church, 245 South Kankakee Street in Coal City. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated with Reverend Robert Noesen officiating.
Burial will be in Plainfield Township Cemetery, where Carole will be laid to rest with her daughter Laura and son Edward.
