Carol A. Ostby

Carol A. Ostby, 86, of Morris, formerly of Lisbon, passed away Thursday, June 30, 2022 at Park Pointe Healthcare & Rehab Center in Morris with her family by her side.
Born October 2, 1935 in Ottawa, she was the daughter of Albert (Bernice) Hampson. She graduated from Ottawa Township High School with the class of 1953. Carol married Dale Ostby on January 20, 1955. For all of their married life they farmed in the Lisbon area and later moved to Newark.
For several years she was employed at Metropolitan Life Insurance Company in Fox Valley. She also worked for her granddaughter’s chiropractic office in St. Charles after retiring from Met Life.
She is survived by her daughter, Christine (David) Thurow of Newark; seven grandchildren, Melissa, Brad, Erin, Jared, Jordan, Justin and Shelby; seven great grandchildren; two sisters, Sandy Sellett of Arizona and Sue (tom) Randolph of California; sister-in-law, Bonnie (Kenneth, deceased) Corcoran; daughter-in-law, Sigrid (Donald) Davidson of Minooka; several nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Dale in 1991; son, Michael, in 1988; her brother, Kenneth Corcoran.
She was active in the West Lisbon Church, taught Sunday school, enjoyed reading, and spending time with her family and grandchildren.
Memorials may be given to the West Lisbon Church or donor’s choice.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 13, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at the West Lisbon Church with Pastor Steven C. Lombardo officiating. Interment will follow in West Lisbon Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. until time of service at the church.
