Carol Jean Harrington, age 82, passed away on October 29, 2024, in Morris, IL.
Born on October 23, 1942, Carol dedicated much of her life to the field of healthcare. She held a longstanding career at Morris Hospital, where she retired as the Vice President of Patient Care Services and Chief Nursing Executive after 43 years of service. Carol's impact was profound, having served as the Director of Nursing for over three decades. Carol was a proud alumna of St. Ambrose University, where she furthered her education and passion for nursing.
She is survived by a loving family, including her husband, Robert; sons, Mark (Karla) and Michael (Susan); grandchildren, Brandon (Janet), Josh (Haley), Emily, Justin (Kylee), Mikayla (Zach), and Alyssa; and her sisters, Mary Beth Walsh and Sr. Marjorie Manning.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Gertrude Manning.

A wake is scheduled for Sunday, November 3, 2024, from 4:00- 7:00 PM at the Fruland Funeral Home, 121 W. Jefferson Street, Morris, IL, and a funeral mass at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Morris, IL, on Monday, November 4, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery. Chicagoland Nurse Honor Guard will be paying tribute at 6:00 PM at the wake.
