Carol J. Chaney

Age 77 of Gardner, formerly Wilmington passed away Sunday August 17, 2014 at OSF Medical Center in Peoria.

Born February 16, 1937 in Streator, Carol was the daughter of the late Charles and Dorothy Kimes-Munts. She was raised and educated in Streator and married Dale C. Chaney at the First Baptist Church of Wilmington in 1982. Carol worked for Trinity Services as a caregiver for 10 years. She was passionate about music, enjoying polka and playing the organ. Carol will also be remembered for her love of crocheting and watching games shows, especially Wheel of Fortune and The Price is Right.

Survivors include her eleven children: Yvonne (Easton) Page of Braceville, Margie (Don) Salisbury of Merrill, Wisconsin, Dolores (Gilles) Charbonneau of Canada, Heather (Jim) Graizer of Waukegan, Illinois, Sharon Beeding of Wilmington, Crystal (Chuck) Duckett of Fort Dodge, Iowa, Dolly (Dave) Madrigal of Lamar, Missouri, John Moss of Gardner, Sheri (Mark) VanDyke of Homer Glen and Carolyn and Ronnie Flagle; twenty-seven grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren, two brothers: Ronnie Munts of Grayslake and Chuck Munts of California, and several nieces and nephews.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents, husband: Dale C. Chaney; first husband: Cecil Flagle; companion: Art Konow and brother Jimmy Munts.

Per Carol's wishes, cremation rites have been accorded and inurnment services will be held on Tuesday, August 26, 2014 at 10:30 AM in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood. Family and friends wishing to attend may assemble by 9:45 AM at Baskerville Funeral Home, 700 East Kahler Road in Wilmington. Procession will be leaving at 10:00 AM.
