Carl L. Hill

Age 71 of Wilmington, passed away Saturday May 4, 2013 at Riverside Medical Center in Kankakee.

Born March 7, 1942 in Nokomis, Illinois, Carl was a son of the late Sylvester Lee and Lena Mae Sanders-Hill. He was raised and educated in Wilmington and drove a truck for over 40 years. Carl held employment locally for Rayburn Trucking and retired from Chellino Crane Company. Carl was a member of the Wilmington Moose Lodge, and in past years enjoyed bowling, golf, fishing and hunting.

Survivors include two children: David (Ann) Hill and Alecia (Kevin) Ptacek, both of Wilmington; grandchildren: Ryan Alexander (Caitlin Durkin), Brittany Hill, Bret Ptacek (Ashley Dingillo), Ryannon Ptacek and Ashley (Brian) Wandless, all of Wilmington, Brooke Cunitz and Nik Cunitz, both of Braidwood and Jakob Hill of Wilmington; three great grandchildren: Aubrey Mae Ptacek, Tristan Wandless and Brayden Wandless; one brother Jerry Hill of Wilmington; one sister Phyllis (Roger) Albright of Rock Falls and numerous nieces and nephews.

Carl was preceded in death by his parents and one son Charles (Linda) Cunitz.

Private graveside services will be held at 10:00AM on Thursday May 9, 2013 in Oakwood Cemetery, Wilmington. Pastor Ron Taylor from Island City Baptist Church in Wilmington will officiate.

Pallbearers will be: David Hill, Ryan Alexander, Bret Ptacek, Bill Moore, Eric Hill and Jerry Hill.
