Bill Vergonet

Age 80 of Morris and formerly of Goose Lake, passed away at his home on Tuesday, April 18, 2017.

Born May 9, 1936 in Chicago, William Arnold was a son of the late Frank and Esther (Natelborg) Vergonet. He was raised and educated in Chicago and graduated from Chicago Vocational High School with the class of 1954. After High School, Bill went on to work as a forklift mechanic  for Voss Equipment which he remained loyal to for 60 years until retirement. He also served as a member of the Goose Lake Association for 45 years and was a proud member of the Rod and Gun Club of Morris. In William's free time he enjoyed fishing, camping, traveling in his RV and being in the great outdoors.  His most treasured times though were spent with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include his six children: Wendy (Don) McCloskey of Zion,Illinois, Thomas (Natalie) Vergonet of Lakeside, California, Linda (Jack) Pennuto of Louisville, Kentucky, Robert Vergonet of Oswego, Illinois, Kenneth Vergonet of Palm Springs, California and Frank Vergonet-Carver; nine grandchildren: Jeffery and Timothy Buldak, William, Jennifer, Stormey and Sky Vergonet, Jack, Jr. and Melissa Pennuto and Breanne Vergonet; twenty-one great-grandchildren and one sister: Geraldine (Dick) Estabrook of Bradenton, Florida.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents; granddaughter: Elizabeth Buldak and daughter-in-law: Kimberly Vergonet.

Per Bill's wishes, cremation rites have been accorded.

The family will receive friends on Monday, April 24, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. until the time of memorial service 7:00 p.m. at Reeves Funeral Home, 408 East Washington Street in Morris.

Inurnment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Evergreen Park, Illinois at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made as gifts in Bill's memory to the donor's charity of choice.
