Bill Hart, Jr.
Age 69 of Coal City, passed away suddenly Monday September 8, 2014 at Morris Hospital with family at his side - following a courageous battle with cancer.
Born June 30, 1945 in San Pedro, California, Bill is the son of Lavinia (nee Brandon) Woodard of Oklahoma and the late Bill Hart, Sr. On May 13, 1965, Bill married Norma Corn in Chicago and she survives. He was employed many years with Caterpillar Tractor Company, from where he retired. Bill enjoyed shooting pool, fishing, and spending time with his grandchildren, family and friends. He also enjoyed the Thursday night man cave and Saturday nights at the party garage. Bill was an avid Cubs and Bears fan who will be missed by all.
Survivors include his wife of 49 years Norma; two sons: Kregg (Jami) Hart and Kevin (Tracy) Hart, all of Coal City; three grandchildren: Kori (Jacob) Weatherhead, Megan Hart and Matthew (Jessi) Hart; one great grandchild Brooklyn Hart; his mother Lavinia Woodard of Oklahoma; two sisters: Peggy (Dan) Busha of Texas and Linda (Buddy) Hughes of Oklahoma; sister-in-law and brother-in-law Mary and Lou Glauner of Wisconsin and many nieces and nephews, as well as very special friends: Richard Gehr, Rick Roseland and Larry and Sue Tarman, all of Coal City.
Bill was preceded in death by his father Bill Hart, Sr. and his father-in-law and mother-in-law Fred and Evelyn Corn.
Visitation and video tribute will be held on Thursday September 11, 2014 from 10:00 a.m. until time of funeral service 12:00 p.m. at Reeves Funeral Home, 75 North Broadway (one block north of Illinois Route 113) in Coal City.
Burial will follow in Braceville-Gardner Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be: Lou Glauner, Rick Roseland, Jake Weatherhead, Steve Raulerson, Nick Born and Dave Dyer.
Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Bill's memory to his family for their distribution.
