Betty Jo Lyles

(nee Heyen)

Age 84 of Wilmington and formerly Cottage Hills, Illinois, passed away Monday, April 11, 2011 at Morris Health Care and Rehabilitation Center.

Born June 29, 1926 in Chesterfield, Betty was a daughter of Jesse and Geneva Wade-Heyen. She was raised and educated in Chesterfield, and married Alvah Curtis Eldridge, whom preceded her in death in 1973. Betty then married Leroy Lyles and he also preceded her in death in 1991. Betty worked as a sales representative for Avon for over fifty years and was a member of the Avon President's Club. She can be remembered for her love of family and cherished the time spent with her children and grandchildren.

Survivors include her three children: Ronald Curtis (Connie) Eldridge of Urbana, Amy Jo (Thomas) Burnes of Wilmington and Karen (James) Ball of Bonita Springs, Florida; one stepson: Christopher (Brenda) Lyles of Moro, Illinois; ten grandchildren: Laura (Kevin) Connolly of Oak Park, Leslie (Bart) Moreau of Boise, Idaho, Ronald Eldridge, Jr. of Decatur, Georgia, Jeffrey (Rita) Burnes of Morris, Ryan (Andrea) Burnes of Wilmington, Holly Burnes of Irving, Texas, Amber Anderson of Athens, Georgia, Scott (Carla) Anderson of Roswell, Georgia, Aaron Lyles and Mackenzie Lyles both of Moro, Illinois; three great grandchildren: Brody, Mason and Jagger Burnes; two brothers: Lyndall (Arlene) Heyen of Carlinville and Dennis (Dixie) Heyen of Maple Valley, Washington and one sister: Carol Dams of Cuba, Illinois, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents; first husband: Alvan Curtis Eldridge in 1973; second husband: Leroy Lyles in 1991; one sister Shirley Munns and one brother Larry Heyen.

Visitation and video tribute will be held on Friday April 15th between the hours of 4:00PM and 7:00PM At Freitag-Reeves & Baskerville Funeral Home, 700 East Kahler Road in Wilmington. Funeral services will follow Saturday April 16th at 10:30AM at the funeral home with Pastor Ron Taylor officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery and pallbearers and honorary pallbearers will be: Jeff Burnes, Ryan Burnes, Holly Burnes, Laura Connolly, Leslie Moreau, Ron Eldridge, Jr., Amber Anderson, Scott Anderson, Aaron Lyles and Mackenzie Lyles.

Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Betty's memory to Joliet Area Community Hospice, 250 Water Stone Circle, Joliet, IL 60431.
