Bernis Warner
Age 92 of Wilmington and formerly the Deselm area, passed away on her birthday, Monday December 8, 2014 at Riverside Medical Center in Kankakee.
Born December 8, 1922 in Flickerville, Rockville Township, Kankakee County, Illinois. Bernis was a daughter of the late William and Lida (Nelson) Anderson. She married Charles Warner in the Deselm United Methodist Church and together they lived in rural Deselm. Bernis was a faithful member of the First United Methodist Church of Wilmington. She enjoyed reading and loved animals, especially cats.
Survivors include nieces: Eunice Echterling of Wilmington and Nancy Maza of Arkansas; nephews: Bill Byers and Joe Byers of Indiana and Arnet Byers of Florida and great niece Bonnie Normington of Wilmington, as well as several other great nieces and great nephews.
Bernis was preceded in death by her parents; husband Charles in 1988 and three sisters: Lenora, Evelaine and Opal.
Visitation will be held on Thursday December 11, 2014 from 9:00 a.m. until time of funeral service 11:00 a.m. at Baskerville Funeral Home, 700 East Kahler Road in Wilmington. Reverend Thomas Kingery from the First United Methodist Church of Wilmington will officiate. Burial will be in Mound Grove Gardens in Kankakee.
