Age 88 of Morris, passed away Friday morning May 20, 2011 at her home.

Born June 1, 1922 in Joliet, Bernie was a daughter of the late Joseph and Elizabeth Stricko-Ressler. She was raised and educated in Joliet and on May 25, 1946, married Peter F. Limbach in Sts. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church in Joliet. After marriage, Bernie and Peter moved to Morris, where they lived their entire married life and raised their family. Peter preceded Bernie in death in 1963. Bernie worked for Lincoln Nursing Home and Hornsby's in Morris prior to becoming a greeter at the Morris Wal-Mart. It was there that she welcomed patrons for 23 years until her retirement in 2009. Bernie was a very active member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Morris, where she formerly belonged to the parents club and participated in bible study. She was also a member of the Polish National Alliance (PNA). Bernie in past times loved to crochet, play cards and bowl. She enjoyed reading and most notably cherished the time spent with her grandkids.

Survivors include four children: Betty Limbach of Morris, Rose (Dale) Eller of Howells, Nebraska, Dave Limbach of Morris and Cyndi (Edward) Panzer of Romeoville; six grandchildren: Dawn Ann Wardell of Columbus, Nebraska, Wendy Sue (Dan) Leasure of Hinckley, Illinois, Danny Ray (Wyvone) Eller of Morris, Mandy Marie (Josh) Lord of Hamilton, Texas and Stephanie Lynn Panzer and Eddie Joseph Panzer, both of Romeoville; eight great grandchildren: Derek Robert Wardell, Wade Allen Eller, Ashley Nicole Leasure, Cheyenne Rose Leasure, Wyatt Daniel Leasure, Skyler Lord, Nicholas Lord and Jacob Lord; one sister-in-law Lucille Pelton of Lisbon and numerous nieces and nephews.

Bernie was preceded in death by her parents; son Richard Joseph Limbach in infancy; husband Peter F. Limbach, one sister Rosemarie and four brothers: Joseph, Bernard, George and Lawrence.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday May 25, 2011 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 514 East Jackson Street in Morris from 9:30AM until time of funeral service 11:00AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated with Revered Ed Howe, CR officiating and a private family inurnment will follow in Mount Carmel Cemetery on June 1, 2011.

Pallbearers and Honorary Pallbearers will be Bernie's grandchildren and great grandchildren: Dawn Wardell, Wendy Leasure, Danny Eller, Mandy Lord, Stephanie Panzer, Eddie Panzer, Derek Wardell, Wade Eller, Ashley Leasure, Cheyenne Leasure, Wyatt Leasure, Skyler Lord, Nicholas Lord and Jacob Lord

Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Bernie's memory to the Immaculate Conception Building Fund.
