Age 85 of Wilmington, passed away Sunday May 11, 2014 at Presence Villa Franciscan in Joliet.

Born June 18, 1928 in Manhattan, Bernice Eula was a daughter of the late Peter and Gertrude Glass-Van Duyne. She was raised in Wilmington and on June 28, 1947, Bernice married Donald Alcorn in the rectory at Saint Rose Catholic Church in Wilmington. She was a member of St. Rose and worked at the Joliet Arsenal prior to going into residential cleaning in the Wilmington area. She enjoyed reading, gardening, playing cards and dancing. Niecy and Don took pleasure in traveling and she cherished her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Survivors include two daughters: Sue (Roger) Daniell and Karen Lerfald (John Zarack), both of Wilmington; four grandchildren: Rachel (Joe) Conforti of Sparks, Nevada, Nate (Suzy) Daniell of Aurora, Colorado, Abby Daniell (fiancAC. Will Barry) of Salt Lake City, Utah and Robert Lerfald of Boca Raton, Florida; five great grandchildren: Sabrina and Siena Conforti and Nathan, Claire and Chloe Daniell; two brothers: Dennis (Shirley) Van Duyne of Coal Valley, Illinois and Herman (Martina) Van Duyne of Panama City, Panama; three sisters-in-law: Geraldine Van Duyne, Margaret Van Duyne and Joan Van Duyne, all of Wilmington, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Niecy was preceded in death by her parents; husband Don; two grandchildren: Hope Marie Lerfald and Jackson Lerfald; seven brothers: Thomas, Richard, Peter, John, Leo, Vincent and Gerald Van Duyne and five sisters: Rita Hurley, Marie Wilson, Lorraine Kunis, Evelyn Fisher and Marcella Anderson.

Visitation and video tribute will be held on May the 21st (Wednesday) between the hours of 5:00PM and 8:00PM at Baskerville Funeral Home, 700 East Kahler Road in Wilmington. Funeral services will follow Thursday morning May 22nd at 10:00AM in Saint Rose Catholic Church, 604 South Kankakee Street in Wilmington. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated with Reverend Steve Bondi officiating. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery in Wilmington, where Niecy will be laid to rest with Don.

Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Bernice's memory to Kuzma Care Cottage, 635 South Main Street, Wilmington, Illinois 60481.
