Bernadine A. Oliver
(nee Van Duyne)
Age 85 of Wilmington, passed away unexpectedly Thursday January 31, 2008 at her home.
Born August 24, 1922 in Joliet, Bernadine was a daughter of the late John and Gertrude Neile-VanDuyne. She was raised and educated in Joliet and was a 1940 graduate of Joliet Township High School. Bernadine was a former employee of the Joliet Arsenal and was a member of St. Rose Catholic Church in Wilmington.
Survivors include one daughter Jane (Fred) Reardanz of Bourbonnais and three grandchildren: James Cox and Chris and Cortney Reardanz, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Bernadine was preceded in death by her parents, husband James in 1999, one daughter Mary Sue Cox in 2001 and one sister Margaret (Peter) Klover.
Visitation will be Tuesday February 05, 2008 from 9AM until 10:30AM at Reeves Funeral Home, 219 North Joliet Street (two blocks North of Illinois Route 53 / Baltimore Street) in Wilmington. Funeral services will then follow at 11:00AM in St. Rose Catholic Church in Wilmington, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated with Rev. Steve Bondi and Deacon Don Dyer officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Wilmington.
Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Bernadine's memory to Kuzma Care Cottage or St. Rose School.
