Benjamin F. Kincheloe

Age 68 of Wilmington, passed away Friday, April 22, 2016 at the Joliet Area Community Hospice Home with his loving wife at his side.

Born July 19, 1947 in Evansville, Indiana, Ben was a son of the late Gladys and Olma Kincheloe. He attended schools in the Evansville area, and after graduation enlisted in the US Army, serving from February 1967 until February 1973. During this time Ben completed one tour of duty in Vietnam, and finished his assignment at the Joliet Army Ammunition Plant. Upon honorable discharge, Ben went to work at Ecolab in Joliet for over 30 years, retiring in 2007. Ben married Crystal Adams in 1973, and she preceded him in death (1983). In 1985 Ben married Annette King, and she survives.

Ben belonged to the Wilmington Island Square Dance Club, serving as president in 1992, and was an active member of the Wilmington A.F. & A.M. Lodge No. 208, where he served as Worshipful Master in 1996. Ben also enjoyed his motorcycle and rode with a group of Wilmington cycle enthusiasts. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Wilmington.

Survivors include his wife Annette; step-son Douglas Davis, and step-daughter, Brenda (Arland) Pearcy, both of Wilmington; one step-granddaughter Ramona Davis, who was Ben's "Sunshine," and two brothers-in-law, David (Judy) King of Gilbert, Arizona and Dennis (Barbara) King of Braidwood, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Ben was preceded in death by his parents, first wife Crystal, and one brother, Ronald.

Cremation rites have been accorded, and Ben will be laid to rest at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood on Friday, May 27, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. Family and friends wishing to attend the military honors and committal service are asked to assemble at the cemetery welcome center by 10:45 a.m. Pastor Tom Kingery from the First United Methodist Church in Wilmington will officiate.

Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Ben's memory to the First United Methodist Church in Wilmington or to Joliet Area Community Hospice.
