Age 68 of Diamond, passed away Monday evening September 30, 2013 at Morris Hospital, after a long courageous battle with cancer.

Born April 19, 1945 in Morris, Barbara was a daughter of the late Herbert Charles and Pauline Antonia Hansen-Gunnerson. She was raised and educated in Morris, where on September 10, 1966, Barb married Francis "Jr." Wren. She worked as a beautician, owning and operating Barb's Beauty Shop in Coal City for numerous years, and most recently worked for Reflections Hair Design in Coal City. Barb was a member of the Coal City Area Club and enjoyed fishing and reading. She took pleasure in going to horse shows and seeing her daughter and granddaughter show. She cherished spending time with her daughters and grandchildren and will be remembered sharing many memorable times at the barn.

Survivors include her husband of 47 years Francis "Jr."; two daughters: Stephanie (Butch) Ryan of Coal City and Stacy Wren (Patrick Patterson) of Diamond; two grandchildren: Korey Wren and Brittany Ryan; one sister Betty (Glenn, Sr.) Friant of Morris; her mother-in-law Fern Wren and aunt Ruth Sanders, both of Coal City and brothers and sisters-in-law: Charles (Margaret) Wren of Braidwood, Gary Wren of Carbon Hill and Ronald (Dena) Wren, Sherrie Hobbs and Richard (Joan) Wren all of Coal City and numerous nieces and nephews.

Barb was preceded in death by her parents; daughter Michele (1989), one brother Richard "Dick" Gunnerson and her father-in-law Francis Wren, Sr., as well as numerous aunts and uncles.

Visitation and video tribute will be held on Thursday October 3, 2013 between the hours of 4:00PM and 8:00PM at Reeves Funeral Home, 75 North Broadway (one block North of Illinois Route 113) in Coal City. Funeral services will follow Friday October 4th at 10:00AM in the funeral home. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Morris.

Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Barb's memory to her family for distribution to local charities of their choosing.
