Barbara Ann Witchek

Age 80 of Wilmington and formerly of Chicago, passed away Tuesday morning, May 10, 2016 at the Joliet Area Community Hospice Home.

Born September 22, 1935 in Chicago, Barbara Ann was a daughter of the late Michael Christopher and Frances Margaret (Theiss) Schuh . She graduated from Chicago Alvernia High School and went on to attend the Art Institute of Chicago. Barbara was a wonderful mother, who will be remembered as an accomplished artist. She also took pleasure in playing the piano.

Survivors include seven children: Frances Witchek of Iowa, Susan (Patrick) Sweeney of Wilmington, Amy (Les) Witchek-Willis of Iowa, Thomas (Marie) Witchek and Maria (Ron) Combs, both of South Carolina and Michael (Kris) Witchek and Julie Witchek, both of North Carolina; grandchildren: Hillary (Mark) Ross, Emily Witchek, Jessica (Brandon) Keymon, Patrick Sweeney III, Michael Witchek, Sarah Witchek, Thomas (Leah) Rash, David Kreider, Jeremy Kreider, Peter Messina, Ronald Combs, Isabel Witchek, Spencer Witchek and Skyler Curran; great grandchildren: Micah, Socorro, Olivia, Christian, Hunter, Haylee, Halayna, Michael, Christopher, Josephine, Isaiah, MacKenna, Anabell "Grace", Caroline, Chloe, Karma and Everleigh, and one sister Katherine "Claire" (James) Sindelar of Palatine.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents; husband Thomas Dale Witchek, whom she married November 3, 1956 in Chicago, and two brothers: William Schuh and Harry "Buddy" Schuh.

Visitation will be held on Friday, May 13, 2016 from 4:00 p.m. until time of funeral service 6:00 p.m. at Baskerville Funeral Home, 700 East Kahler Road in Wilmington. Cremation rites will be accorded following the services.

Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Barbara's memory to the Activities Department at Aperion Care Wilmington, 555 West Kahler Road, Wilmington, Illinois 60481.
