Aubrey Wright

Age 86, of Chicago, Illinois, formerly of Farmhaven, Mississippi, died Sunday, April 6, 2025.

He was born on February 6, 1939, in Farmhaven, Mississippi, and was a son of Johhny and Maggie (Brown) Wright. He was raised and educated in Mississippi and graduated from Cameron Street High School with the class of 1957. Aubrey was a proud member of the United States Army and served over two years while stationed in Germany.

He found joy in the little things—whether it was sipping his morning coffee, savoring a hearty barbecue, or watching the timeless Gunsmoke westerns. Aubrey could often be found strolling through his neighborhood or dancing to the rhythm of life. He had a natural gift for entertaining, always coming up with new ways to bring joy and laughter to family and friends. He was loving, compassionate, and incredibly strong.

Aubrey is survived by his daughter, Tiffany (Ali) Robinson, of Chicago; two granddaughters: Taja and Ariel Robinson, of Chicago; two brothers: Lavon Wright, of St. Louis, Missouri, and Amad Rhasad, of Mississippi; sisters in law: Lela Franklin, Bertha Bastiste, Jackie Wright; brothers in law: Charles Dagons, Emmett Dagons, Howard Lee Dagons, Lee Doris Dagons, Avery Dagons; numerous nieces and nephews and several cousins, and his friendly long-time neighbor, Mr. Marvin.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Pauline; brothers: Herbert Wright, Louis Wright, Johnny Wright; sisters: Carine and Linnie Bell.

The family will recieve friends for a memorial gathering at Reeves Funeral Home, 408 East Washington Street, in Morris, Illinois on Friday, April 18, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. until the time of the memorial service at 3:00 p.m. Dr. Reverend Roy Backus will officiate.
