Arthur J. Goulding
Age 83 of Wilmington and formerly Lockport and Blue Island, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday August 19, 2014.
Born July 26, 1931 in Blue Island, Arthur was a son of the late Dean Eber and Alma Ann (Brievogle) Goulding. He was raised in Blue Island and went on to honorably serve and instruct marksmanship in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict. On March 8, 1958, Arthur married Dolores Aileen Kuykendall in Corinth, Mississippi and she preceded him on May 4, 2014. Arthur worked as a brick layer his entire life and owned and operated Goulding and Sons, Inc. He was a member of the American Legion and the National Rifleman's Association. Arthur was constantly inventing something, and will be remembered for his love of the outdoors, fishing and family.
Survivors include his four children: David (Connie) Goulding of Plainfield, Daniel (Anita) Goulding and Beth (Jerome) Peterson, both of Wilmington and Douglas (Robin) Goulding of Shorewood; grandchildren: Tim (Tiffany), Douglas (Tera), Allison (Jimmy), Mallory Aileen, Jackie, Nathan (Kris), Matt (Kristin), Krista (T.J.), Mark (Lisa), Andy and Alex; great grandchildren: Hannah, Hailey, Nevaeh, Julian, McKenna, Lilly, Ronnie, Jonathan, Oriah, Olivia, Ella, Mason and Elena; one sister Ruth (the late Ray) Watson of Wilmington; two sisters-in-law: Deanna (Wayne) Snedden of Oak Forest and Mary Ann (the late Ronald) Kuykendall of Arizona, and one brother-in-law David (Louise) Kuykendall of Florida, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Arthur was preceded in death by his parents; wife Dolores; great grandsons: Caden and Connor Hansen; brother Robert (Dorothy) Goulding and son-in-law William Langusch.
Cremation rites have been accorded. A private family inurnment with full military honors will be in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, where Arthur will be laid to rest with his wife Dolores.
