Aretta F. Wright

Age 80 of Wilmington, Illinois and formerly Owensville, Indiana, passed away peacefully Friday afternoon August 8, 2014 at her home in Wilmington.

Born February 20, 1934 in Montgomery Township, Gibson County, Indiana, Aretta was a daughter of the late Arthur Bryan and Gracie Mae (McClellan) Peach. She was raised and educated in the Owensville area, and on May 7, 1950, Aretta married Clifford E. Wright. She was a member of Wilmington Church of the Nazarene, where she taught Sunday school for many years and served on the church board. Aretta enjoyed painting and took great pleasure in vegetable and especially flower gardening.

Survivors include her children: Wayne (Cathy) Wright of Gardner, IL Dianna (Alan) Taylor of Mansfield, OH, Susan Kimmons of Wilmington, IL, Cynthia (Ted) Yakima of Manteno, IL and Sandra Nowman of Channahon, IL; (12) grandchildren; (7) great grandchildren; brothers and sister: Daniel Peach and Laretta Bush, both of Owensville, IN, Raymond Peach of Johnson, IN and Winifred Peach of Veedersburg, IN.

Aretta was preceded in death by her parents; sons: Roger Wright and Darrell Wright, daughter Rosetta Wright; son-in-law Rick Kimmons, and brothers: Jefferson Peach, Earl Peach and Wencil Lee Peach.

Visitation will be held Wednesday August 13, 2014 from 4:00 p.m. until time of funeral service 7:00 p.m. at Baskerville Funeral Home, 700 East Kahler Road in Wilmington. Visitation and funeral services will also follow in Owensville, Indiana, where Aretta will be laid to rest with her husband Clifford in Maumee Cemetery.

Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Aretta's memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
