Anne L. Lafferty

Age 65 of Coal City passed away Sunday July 17, 2016 at Regency Care of Morris.

Born February 7, 1951, Anne Lorraine was a daughter of the late Irvin and Agnita Lafferty.  She was raised and educated in Coal City, and graduated from Coal City High School.  Anne worked for Sponge Cushion Inc. of Morris for 38 years, until retirement. She also worked for Little Maria’s in Coal City as a delivery driver for over 20 years.  Anne was a member of Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Roman Catholic Church in Coal City, and had numerous activities she worked on in her spare time. She enjoyed crocheting, coloring and doing crosswords. Anne was quite the practical joker, enjoying playing pranks on her friends and family. She also always had a good sense of humor about it when the joke was on her.  Anne had a big heart, and devoted her life to family, whom she would do anything for.

Survivors include her sister: Cheryl Lafferty; nieces and nephews: Reno (Tina) Vignocchi, Rena (Jon Sprimont) Vignocchi, Gina Vignocchi and Jeff (Jonathan Bast) Yack; great nieces and nephews: Matthew Vignocchi, Andrew Vignocchi, Melanie Vignocchi, Jenny (Adam) Harrington, Julie (Sam Gimpel) Small, Rachel (Brian) Manzello and Brittany (Richard Marcotte) Joyce; great-great nieces and nephews: Bret and Autumn Manzello, Tori Harrington, and Ayden and Lydia Marcotte, and extended family: Anita Neese, DJ Neese and Mary Cunning.

Anne was preceded in death by her parents; sister and brother-in-law: Catherine and Richard Yanketis; and her loving companion: Don Neese.

Visitation and video tribute will be Thursday July 21, 2016 at Reeves Funeral Home, 203 Liberty Street, in Gardner, between the hours of 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will follow on Friday July 22, 2016, at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home with Reverend Robert Noesen from Assumption Catholic Church officiating.  Burial will follow in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Braidwood.

Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Anne’s memory to the family for their distribution.
