Annabelle Roeder (nee Matone)
Passed away on August 15, 2012 at the age of 83, surrounded by her family at Silver Cross Hospital in New Lenox.
Annabelle was born in Wilmington, Illinois on July 9, 1929, a daughter of the late Benjamin and Anna Brown-Matone. She was a 1947 graduate of Wilmington High School and a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Wilmington. Annabelle worked for APSA at the former Joliet Arsenal from 1951-1971. She enjoyed spending time with her family, attending her son Stanton's baseball and softball games, sewing, ceramics, cooking and spending time on her computer.
Annabelle is survived by her husband of 60 years, Stanton Roeder, Sr. of Wilmington, a son, Stanton Roeder, Jr. and his wife Sandra, and her granddaughter, which was her pride and joy, Kelsie Jean Roeder. Annabelle is also survived by a sister Ruth Matone-Bovee, a niece Gayle (Donald) Robinson and numerous other relatives.
Visitation will be held on Monday August 20th, from 10:00AM until time of funeral service 12:00PM at Freitag-Reeves & Baskerville Funeral Home, 700 East Kahler Road in Wilmington. (815/476-2181) Pastor Mark Moon will officiate and burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery in Wilmington.
Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Annabelle's memory to the First Presbyterian Church of Wilmington.
