Ann F. Stanley
Age 95 of Wilmington, passed away Friday, June 17, 2011 at Heritage Manor in Dwight with family at her side.
Born December 1, 1915 in Wilmington, Ann was a daughter of the late M. Charles and Mary Roland-O'Connor. She was raised and educated in Wilmington, graduated from Wilmington High School and continued her education at St. Joseph College of Nursing in Joliet. On May 4, 1940, Ann married James A. Stanley in Iowa and he preceded her in death in 1988. Ann worked as a nurse for Dr. Richards in Wilmington for seventeen years until her retirement. She was a member of St. Rose Catholic Church and the St. Rose Mothers Club. Ann can be remembered for lending her nursing skills to many friends and neighbors over the years, and she truly cherished her family, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Survivors include: two children: Jean (the late Kenneth) Decker and James (Susan) Stanley, both of Wilmington; four grandchildren: Skeeter (Debbie Jo) VanDuyne of Missouri, Jeffrey (Sheila) VanDuyne of Wilmington, Teri LaPaso of Joliet and Julie (Gordon) Archey of Wilmington; eight great grandchildren: Christina Senior, Kaitlin Senior, Jessica LaPaso, Jimmy Archey, Lauren Archey, Michael Archey, Casey VanDuyne and Cory VanDuyne.
Ann was preceded in death by her parents; husband James and son-in-law Kenneth Decker.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, June 20, 2011 at 9:30am in St. Rose Catholic Church, 624 South Kankakee Street in Wilmington. Reverend Steve Bondi and Deacon Don Dyer will officiate.
Burial will follow in Mount Olivet Cemetery in Wilmington and Jeffrey VanDuyne, Teri LaPaso, Julie Archey, Dennis Vice, Patrick Mann and Charlie Marshall will act as pallbearers.
Preferred memorial may be made as gifts in Ann's memory to Kuzma Care Cottage, 635 South Main Street, Wilmington, Illinois 60481.
