Ann A. Rath (nee Pawlowski)
Age 92 of Morris, passed away Tuesday, December 28, 2010 at Walnut Grove in Morris. Born October 24, 1918 in Morris, Ann was a daughter of the late William and Helen Pobidinski-Pawlowski. She was raised and educated in Morris, and graduated from Immaculate Conception School in 1932 and St. Angela Academy in 1936. On September 3, 1939 Ann married Carl Rath in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and together they lived their entire lives in Morris. Ann was a member of the Immaculate Conception, where she was formerly involved with the Altar and Rosary Society and belonged to the PNA (Polish National Alliance). Ann can be remembered for her enjoyment of reading, and cherished the time spent with her grandchildren, great grandchildren and family.
Survivors include her four children: William C. (Clair) Rath, Josetta (the late Bruce) Nelson, Ronald J. (Barbara) Rath and Laurita (Duane) McComas all of Morris; ten grandchildren: Jennifer, Sarah, Jonathan, Erich, Mark, Gregory, Michael, Danielle, Steven and Monica; (20) great grandchildren; one sisters: Agnes (the Late Hugh) Killelea of Bettendorf, Iowa and well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Ann was preceded in death by her parents; husband Carl in 1989; two brothers: William and Joseph Pawlowski; One sister Marian (Jim) Lanier; one son-in-law: Bruce H. Nelson and one daughter-in-law: Sherry (Lanier) Rath.
The family will receive friends on Thursday January 06, 2011 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 514 East Jackson Street in Morris, from 9:00AM until time Funeral Services 10:00AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated with Reverend Ed Howe, CR officiating and burial will follow in Mount Carmel Cemetery in Morris.
Pallbearers will be: Gregory Nelson, Michael Nelson, Jonathan Rath, Patrick Zavala and Steven Rath.
Preferred memorials in lieu of flowers may be made as gifts in Ann's memory the Immaculate Conception School Endowment Fund or the Immaculate Conception Building Fund.
