Ann Cardwell
Age 92 of Elwood, formerly Joliet, passed away Thursday May 7, 2015 at her home.
Born February 21, 1923 in Joliet, Ann was a daughter of George and Vera (Danko) Sceniak. She was raised and educated in Joliet, and on July 19, 1942, Ann married Howard L. Cardwell in Joliet. She was a marvelous homemaker, and enjoyed cooking. Ann was also known for her love of dancing and sewing, and was most certainly loved by all who knew her.
Ann is survived by her sister: Mary (the late Joseph) Gaspar of Yorkville; special niece: Susan (Robert Banwart) Wilson of Yorkville, and several other nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Howard; and her siblings: her twin, George Sceniak, John Sceniak and Irene Eaton.
Family and friends will assemble at 9:00 AM on Tuesday May 12, 2015 at Baskerville Funeral Home, 700 East Kahler Road, in Wilmington. A funeral procession will depart at 9:30 AM for 10:00 AM funeral services at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, 20953 West Hoff Road, in Elwood, where Ann will be laid to rest with her husband. Deacon Milt Leppert will officiate.
Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Ann’s memory to the Society For The Blind, 1238 S Street, Sacramento, CA 95811.
