Age 104, formerly of Coal City, passed away Thursday November 2, 2006 at Morris Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.

Born October 17, 1902 in Carbon Hill, Angela was a daughter of the late Dominic and Catherine Marta. She was raised and educated in Carbon Hill and attended Illinois State University. On July 03, 1926, Angela married Russell Wakeman in Federated Church in Morris and together they lived their entire married life in the Mazon and Coal City area. Angela taught school at Stine School, Hume School and Booth Central School. She also was a substitute teacher at Braidwood Elementary School until her retirement. Angela was a former member of Coal City United Methodist Church, member of the Retired Teachers Association, The Grundy County Home Extension and The Mazon Farmer's Wives, as well as numerous other civic organizations. She loved to garden, but most of all her family.

Survivors include her daughter Joan Olson of Morris; four grandchildren: Alice Roderick of Pinckney, Michigan, Donna Olson and Marta Nelson, both of Morris and Alan (Anne) Wakeman of Indianapolis, Indiana. Seven Great Grandchildren: Jason Delockery of New Hampshire, Lauren Roderick of Detroit, Michigan, Carl (Trisha) Delockery of Morris, Lindsay (Tim) Church of Ann Arbor, Michigan, Alex Roderick of Pinckney, Michigan, Juli Wakeman and Kimberly Wakeman, both of Indianapolis, Indiana, one daughter-in-law Margaret Wakeman and one sister-in-law Jesse Mae Enger. Angela was preceded in death by her parents, husband Russell, one son Bill Wakeman and one son-in-law Donald Olson.

Visitation will be held on Monday November 06, 2006 from 11:00AM until time of funeral service 1:00PM at Reeves Funeral Home, 408 East Washington Street (two blocks East of Illinois Route 47) in Morris. Rev. Gary Motta, Angela's great nephew will officiate and burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery in Morris.

Pallbearers will be: Jason Delockery, Carl Delockery, Edward Wakeman, David Enger, Tim Church and Alan Wakeman.
