Andrew J. Lawson

Age 43 of Wilmington and formerly Crete, passed away Monday morning January 30, 2012 at the Joliet Area Community Hospice Home.

Born August 13, 1968 in Oak Lawn, Andrew was a son of the late Andrew Johnson Lawson and Gladys Marie Newton-Lawson. On December 11, 2011, Andrew married Patricia L. Howell at the University of Chicago Hospital in Chicago. He was most recently employed with MV Tracking in Palatine. Andrew enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing cards, and was a Chicago Cubs and Bears fan. Though he could be quite intimidating, Andrew had a great sense of humor and will be remembered as a wonderful father to his children.

Survivors include his wife Patti; three children: Tyler Miller, Michael Lawson and Marie Lawson; three sisters: Belinda (Doug) Kirby of Beecher, Tammy (Paul) Lawson-Hernandez of Midlothian and Cathy Lawson of Chicago; one brother Richard Lawson of Grant Park; niece Rachel Kirby of Madison, Wisconsin; several aunts and uncles, his cousin and friend Lauralee Conway of Hickory Hills, and dear friends Tom and Sue Vitello, as well as lifelong and best friends: Ed Wendsel of Palos Hills, Pete Cardenas of Chicago Heights, Joe Pintorin of Plainfield, Brad Causley of Midlothian and Steve Davis of Chicago.

Andrew was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers.

Visitation will be held on Friday February 3, 2012 from 3:00PM until time of memorial service 6:30PM at Freitag-Reeves & Baskerville Funeral Home, 700 East Kahler Road in Wilmington. (815/476-2181) Pastor Lonnie Caha will officiate.

Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Andrew's memory to his family for their distribution.
