Amy Lynn Jelley

Age 42 of Channahon, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 30, 2021 at the Lightways Hospice Inpatient Unit in Joliet, Illinois.

Born April 4, 1979 in Joliet, Amy Lynn is a daughter of Bobby G. and Viva J. (Gordon) Jelley. She participated in the R.E.A.C.H. program and graduated from Minooka High School in 2000.

Amy was a caring, loving little girl, who enjoyed listening to music, especially Country music; watching Elvis movies, and episodes of both Beverly Hills 90210 and Buffy the Vampire Slayer.  She loved going to church and always looked forward to seeing Pastor Joe and Rhonda at Families of Faith. Amy’s family was blessed for 42 short years, but finds comfort in knowing that she now walks in glory until they meet again.

Survivors include her parents, Bobby and Viva Jelley; two brothers: David (Barbara) Jelley of Alsip and Joseph Jelley of Wilmington; one sister, Lisa Jelley of Channahon; her aunt, Evalee (the late Joe) Eaves of Troy, Illinois and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Amy was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Clyde and Elsie Gordon and paternal grandparents, Charles and Ida Jelley.

The family will receive friends for a visitation on Tuesday, July 6, 2021 at Families of Faith Church, 24466 West Eames Street in Channahon from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will follow Wednesday morning, July 7, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. in the church with Pastor Joe Pospischil officiating. Cremation rites will be accorded following the services, and Amy will be laid to rest with her grandparents in Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Belleville, Illinois.
